Changing my engine, taking engine from an automatic tranny and putting it on my 5sp. tranny. Do i need to change the pilot bearing when doing this? My car is a 92 accord LX. The engine is coming out of a 93 accord LX.
I looked again and like before I don't think it has a pilot bearing.
If you're talking about #5 in the picture, that's the throw-out bearing (or "clutch-release bearing"). Considering the amount of work to remove the engine again just to replace it, that's not a bad idea to get a new one. OTOH it's $60(online) to $100(dealer) of your money, not mine. If you want to keep the old one, inspect it carefully.

Yup, inspect carefully. Same applies to the clutch disc too. If your car used a pilot bearing, you'll find it in the end of the crankshaft.
