how to turbo a vtec

Default how to turbo a vtec

ive looked into it as far as i can, but the searches i come up with never give me straight answer. what if any needs to be done to turbo a vtec engine. is there anything that has to be added to the vtec to make it work with the turbo, or do i have to get a non vtec inlet mannifold.
someone HELP me plz ppl

I heard the people disconnect the VTEC solenoid on their turbo engines.

thats what i heard aswell, but i emailed someone, he said you can turbo a vtec. he also had a picture with a top mounted turbo mannifold on a vtec engine. is there a difference between acura and accord vtec????

Depends on what kind of Honda and Acura. If you're talking about Accord and TSX 2.4 L engine then yes, a hell of a difference, about 40HP. Honda Accord K24A4 engine is infact vtec, but it is limited by the exhaust cam which ais not vtec, that was done due to a LEV regulations, Low Emissions Vehicle. TSX K24 has full VTEC on both exhaust and intake cams, much better flowing head, and if you actually look at the pistons and connecting rods they are much better built on a TSX.

back to the question about a turbo on a vtec, no, there's no special mods.... many ppl disconnect vtec... i didn't... it works like a charm (2 years now)...

Cool T4 Turbo With a Vtec

All you need is a Programmer (Hondata, Skunk2, Crome, etc,) to run piggy back with your ECU then just take it to get dyno'd unless you know someone who can tweek the air to fuel ratio's. Hope this helps.

you will not find a hondata for your car. first switch to OBD1 and then get the hondata
