Default Accord body durability

Since my wife and I live in Upstate NY where we get a lot of snow and the local Dept of Transportation loves to use road salt, obviously I'm concerned about rust and corrosion. I'm curious to hear from some Honda owners who live in snowbelt areas and how well their Hondas have held up under snowy conditions over the years. I'm not concerned with Honda's drivetrain and engine at all. I know that will hold up with routine maintenance.

We did have the car rustproofed and clear-coated when we purchased it back in December and I plan to keep it washed and clean of salt the best I can. Any thoughts or experiences from other Honda owners who deal with snow?

Get a set of winter tires. Collisions kill cars faster than corrosion.

Over the years, Honda has had thier share of rust problems, but pretty much like any car especially in the late 70s early 80s. You don't say what year you have.

Maybe its 2004 based on your username??
They seem pretty good, but every car company has gotten better at corrosion these days. Just being concerned and aware, you're probably better than most.

Rustproofing MUST NOT obstruct the drain holes; for example at the bottom of the doors. Probably a good shop knows that, and applies it correctly.

Ditto on the snow tires, the ones I have are studded and they're amazing!

I live in Maine, and my Accord has seen 11 winters here. The only rust my car has is on the rear left tire well, along the edge. I've taken it off once, but it came back.
