There's no getting around aero drag on the highway. No matter how low your Cd is, you still have to multiply that by the frontal area of the car. Taller, bigger, all that just means you have to push more air out of the way.

Now if they'd just make a brand-new version of my 1995 Integra GSR 4-door... And I don't mean 30% LARGER like the 2015 Accord is larger than the 1995 Accord.

Good point, Jim

Curious though about your statement, "And I don't mean 30% LARGER like the 2015 Accord is larger than the 1995 Accord." in reference to mpg... considering that the 1995 Accord was rated at 25/31 mpg while the 2015 Accord is rated at 27/36 mpg.

If the 2015 drive train was mounted in the 1995 Accord you can bet the highway mileage would be over 40 mpg.

Yes, you're absolutely right about the newer cars being better & better.

I just have a general dislike for the tendency of each new generation of the same car being larger than the previous generation.

My daughter's 2013 Civic sure feels a lot larger than a 1992 Accord. Of course it's better & more modern too, but why make the Accord larger, make the Civic larger, and then you have to invent new models to fill in the "small" end of the spectrum where the Accord used to be.

I thought that the Accord has always been considered a mid-sized sedan/coupe while the Civic filled the criteria of a compact.
Would not the Fit be considered a sub-compact?
