The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
Well long story short..i replaced the fuse for the dome light and map light,great..they work fine now.So i go to close my door, when i notice after a minute or so it stays on,and will not turn off after like 10 seconds like it normally does or what not. Im at a stand still with this thing. [:@]
I have a myspace but I don't really use it, it's myspace.com/t00fatt.
CJDM that sounds like a bad switch to me. There is a switch at each door, one may be getting stuck in the closed position. And I don't mean the outside mechanism, but the internal mechanism. I would try and see how they come out, and remove them one by one until the problem goes away. Then you know which one needs to be replaced. I would have to see the schematic of that circuit to really help you.

Yeah thats what my dad said, take the door lock switch off and work from there...Thanks Danny..
So the switch could be bad, even if the door opem light shows up open in the gauge

If it is saying the door is open when it is closed( what's happening with the lights) can only be caused by the switches or the circuit they are on. What doesn't make sense is that when you close the door, the light stays on for a few seconds then goes off right? If it were to just stay on I wouldn't have a doubt in my mind one of the switches is the problem. But what you describe is weird, I can't see how a broken switch can respond late. So I would have to see what else is involved in controlling that lights, the switches may feed some kind of controller chip or something. But a bad switch can very well be the problem. Problems like that make me really appreciate having a new car. Even though things can be fixed, sometimes it's just not worth the headache. I hate it when a friend brings me a car to find a short, or some other electrical problem. But if you still can't figure it out, I'm pretty good at trouble shooting these things. I charge a .7 an hour by the way lol.
EDIT: Wait lock switch? No the switch would look like a water proof rubber toggle switch except it depresses instead of toggles. I'm pretty sure it's on the door, but may in the door jam itself.
