t00fatt, for my system, will a 1.5 farad be ok instead of the 1 farad I have now? I need to extend my wiring so my cap can sit between my subs and am going to use a 4 gauge inline fuse just like the one by the battery. Both will have a 40 amp fuse, is this an okay way to extend the wiring?

 

The 1.5f will be fine as long as your alt isn't dieing. You really need to upgrade your big three though and get a new battery if you haven't already. Using a fuse to extend the wire is a bit ghetto but will work.

How many watts are you running and how many amps is your alt? If your not drawing many amps and you have a dimming problem, then you a have an electrical problem.
