The weather was perfect, so.... washed & waxed, then a nice leisurely drive out through the countryside

I think if I were to do this again with a Honda I would probably try out the Tokico Illumina.
Any reason for the Illuminas over the Koni Sports (Yellows)? They are just about in the same price range (Yellows go on sale too), and in my research and experience, the Koni's are superior. Yellows seem to handle lowering springs or coilovers much better than Tokicos, mostly due to their design and the fact they are not position sensitive, and perform the same no matter the shock postion. Also, in my opinion, Koni has the better damping characteristics with their fixed compression, and rebound only adjustment. Where as Illuminas have the less complex, fixed ratio compression/rebound adjustment. I've seen a lot more blown Tokicos with lower mileage than Koni's with similar mileage.

Another viable option for a good shock if you don't want to deal with adjustable shocks would be Bilstein HDs, but they run just as much, if nor a bit more than Koni's

Some jerk broke into my car while I was at work, they scratched up the driver side window and forced it down so it wouldn't move at all. I replaced the glass and the window motor(?)today.
It was a pain but I am sooo grateful, There have been a lot of Hondas stolen in my area lately but They didn't take My car! Best I can figure is something scared the jerk away.......thank goodness!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your Accord, yet as you're saying, '..it could have been worse'

Glad that you're okay

Yesterday I replaced the wheel bearing (Timken), lower ball joint (Honda), LCA (Honda, found a cheap overstock), and axle (A1 Cardone Reman from Pep Boys) on the passenger side. Now, except for the drivers side LCA bushings the entire front suspension is new. The car seems to drive a bit smoother than ever before.

The reman axles appear to be holding up so far, no problems and it feels solid.

I bought Honda bushings for the LCAs, but after trying to pop one bushing out using my shop press I realized it's going to take drilling and cutting to remove these. Since I found the full OEM LCA and installed that instead, I now have the pushings and the original LCA to try hand at bushing replacement without time pressure. And I'll sell this one as a reman once I've replaced them.

For both bearings I cut the bearing off the hub with a Dremel, cutting through both outer and inner races. Took a while but still worked fine. It just took a while. Next time around I think I'll just buy new hubs to go with the bearings.

Slapped a new set of front pads on the 07 Pilot....bought it with ~42K, replaced the first set ~60K and then this set at 158K....YES, a set of front pads that lasted ~100K

The rears only seem to last around 60K

Have yet to replace any of the rotors, never let the pads eat into them and there is not "shake" when braking. Do the "poormans" brake fluid change - compress the caliper pistons and change the pads, the use something to suck out the brake fluid from the brake master res and re-fill with fresh fluid. Call it a day and enjoy a drive

I left the Honda in the garage!

When it's 60 degrees and sunny in Minnesota in October and it's my day off, the Corvair convertible goes for a drive. Tomorrow I'll get the Honda winter ready. Oil and filter and all the checks. Not sure if I need tires, about 35 k on them. Hope they have enough tread for snow. Fine for rain.

Any one have a set of wheels that fit a '14 Accord? Cheap, for snow tires.

Went to Tennessee on vacation this summer. Loved the hills and forests. Can you say -25 degrees? No? It would not take a lot pushing to move to a warmer climate.

Well, yesterday I washed Selene (that's her name now) for the first time in probably 3 years. Vaccumed a bit on the inside, did some leaf removal, put new windshield wipers on and took some of the garbage out of the passenger side (full story on my intro thread).

Tomorrow the real work begins!
