replacing steering rack?

it won't be in the way, the rack will slip past that, also it will be easier to remove the ouetr tie rods ends before you take the rack off the car .. count the turns for each side and write it down someplace , then when you have to reinstall them in the new rack , put them in the same amount of turns,, it won't be exact but it is a good starting point , trying to keep the steering wheel as close to center as possible,, before you have car aligned

I'll keep that in mind; i'll probably order the rack after i get the plates for the car, hopefully this week.

I was wondering, and my dad pointed this out, wont the tie rods be junk after i pop them off? I have the rack, and it didnt come with them (didnt figure it would) but my dad said i should probably replace them. Only thing is i doubt i'll be able to afford new ones, so would it be feasible to not replace them, or get them done when i get it aligned?
