Shimmy at 60 tried so many things
Ive had my 91 accord ex for 5 wks thing has gremlins I've been elbow deep in jus bout every weekend mostly chasing the same problem I've got the shimmy I've read bout so far I've tried alignment wheel balance (les schwab) I've changed both cv axles drive side inner and outer tie rod passenger outter tie rod and lower ball joint And have tried moving front tires to rear but still have the shimmy vibration on the hwy it's killing me I commute over a 100 mi on the hwy everyday Plz tell me there's something else to do
Is the shimmy full time at 60 or only under acceleration?
Were all the alignments w/i specification?
One possibility is a bent rim. This will balance OK, but will cause a shimmy that might not be detected until sufficient speed. Wheels need to be spun and carefully observed to look for a "flat spot".
good luck

All alignment in sPec ima buy new tires tomorrow road force balance today I went to try another cv axle on passenger side when I went to put new axle in it didn't want to go in I had tO beat the crap out of it to even get close to seat I'm really pissed all I want to do is get to wrk and now I've got a shimmy and a tick noise at 60 I got pissed during my reinstall and I think maybe I damaged my strut
Vibration that doesn't matter whether you're accelerating, is usually wheel balancing. Occasionally it's something else like bent rim or even problems with the belts inside the tire.
Alignment usually causes uneven wear in the tires, or the car just pulls to one side.
