2012 Accord amp and speaker installation
#21
Still trying to find source of my hum. I did find the ground that Honda made is against paint(see pic) so I removed the paint and It helped a little. Tried several different ground points and no help. Without the engine running the turn signals and other electric equipment make a click thru the speakers. Next Ill try an noise isolator. I did unplug the high level inputs but the way the amp is made the speakers go completely dead. I may try putting a house stereo in place with RCA's and see if it's the speaker wire picking up the RF noise.

Installed spare battery into trunk separate from cars system, still have hum. Now I'm buying a LOC and will install it near the radio and run RCA's to the amp getting rid of the high inputs. Also the LOC will have a remote turn on which will help since the stock radio doesn't have a remote line out.

the speakers should go completely dead without an input signal. if there were anything in the speakers that would be noise coming from the car. the loop is coming from your source.

Installed a LC6i converter and ran shielded wire from the head unit to it. Then shielded rca's to my amp. No more hum. Jut need to set up the amp gains ect... One item is the remote turn on for the loc doesn't work. I called a tech and his response is most newer cars always have a signal coming out the head unit that will keep the loc on. These signals are for the chimes and other sounds. One heak of a job, glad its over.
