2013 Accord problems with nav. and blutooth
No, you're missing the point!
I've been in sales for the last 18 years, and I've found quite the opposite. When a customer complains they're usually right. I agreed the word "destroys" is a little much. But it's just people venting their frustration. And I don't remember anyone saying they want a new car.
They just want Honda to resolve the problems. Hell, at first Honda wouldn't even acknowledge there was a problem!
It's because of people filing complaints with Honda that they're addressing it now.
After all, this is a discussion forum right? A place for people to share their thoughts and complaints?
Read the title of the thread. Besides if you don't like reading what people are saying, don't click on it.
If you want to continue to defend Honda on this issue, have at it. But don't expect anyone to agree with you.
Most people on here seem very sincere and reasonable about the subject.
Myself, this is our 6th new Accord since 2000. I know a little bit about Hondas.
All I said was if they don't correct this issue, it'll be my last.

to the guy who says the customer is always right. that is the biggest load of crap any business can sell you. I have worked in retail and sales before and I can tell you the majority of the time one of the first things they tell you in training is the customer is rarely right.
Enough about that.
After backing up this morning with no lines on the reverse camera, I called Honda again and spoke to Sarah at Honda Service Relations. She reviewed my case notes from when I first called in in December and advised me that a service bulletinwould be coming out in 2-3 weeks. She did not know what the fix would cover in detail but could tell me that it should address the bluetooth locking up the system. She said I would receive written notice via postal mail.
ok let me start over. mx you seem to be getting aggitated. maybe if I give a little background you will see that I am not arguing with you. in fact I am agreeing with you on most of your points. the customer thing I am not going to argue anymore about, other than saying that always the customers know they are unhappy, but unless they are an expert in what they are unhappy about, they do not know the solution or what it takes to get that solution. a company can only do so much and still make profit. without profit a company cant keep its doors open.
OK so for the background. I have an 03 accord. never again will I ever buy a honda. but I have it now so I make it work.
My transmission went out. after doing research I found that the 03 accords had bad trannys and that honda replaced them with remanufactured transmissions. the same transmissions just rebuilt. I had it replaced by a transmission shop (not honda) and have had no more problems out of it.
My radio went out. took it to honda. they replaced it, with a remanufactured one. it went out again. I replaced it with an aftermarket deck no more problems.
My pressure hose sprung a leak. I fixed it with a new one. No more problems.
My track record with honda has not been a good one. personally I do not trust honda repairs. which is why I originally suggested replacing it with another one homself. I think in the long run he would be happier.
All I am saying about waiting on honda is if you are going to wait for them to fix it and they told you an estimate on when it would be possible for a fix, then wait for that time. They told you that is when the update was coming out they arent coming out with it any sooner than that. knowing honda it will probably be longer.
but given my past experience, I think fixing the problem yourself will provide better results.
I dont want everyone to agree with me. I want everyone to understand that if they say it is coming out in march it wont be out any earlier than march. I am sincere in trying to offer another solution to the problem. I agree that the forum is for open discussion which means that I have just as much right to discuss the issue as anyone else. If you dont like my solution, then wait on honda. I am not telling you not to. I am telling you that from my experience, honda does not fix problems. they put a bandaid on it till your warranty runs out.

First paragraph. BS.
Anyway, comparing what happened to you and your 03 is not relevant now. That was 10 years ago, a much different time and outdated technology.
A lot has changed since then. Customer service is more important now than it's ever been for all companies.
I just don't think you should be giving people advice that just bought a new 2013 with issues, when you're driving a 10 year old car. Apples and oranges.
As far as that goes, I'm driving our 06 EX V6 coupe for a work car now. We bought it new in 06 and it now has 140K miles on it.
Never went back to the dealer for a problem, ever. Only thing we've done is tires, brakes and timing belt. But that has no relevance to this thread.
I'm a Honda believer, that's why we've bought 6. So, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt......for now, that they'll fix our problems.

these problems did not occur recently. they occured while the car was under warranty. 05 06 07. but, dont take my advice. I really dont care.
It obviously isnt that big of a deal to honda. They are not helping people. if they were this thread wouldnt be here.
continue to buy hondas, again, I dont care. trying to be helpful, but apparently people dont want another view point or others opinions. they want to wine and bitch. so have at it. I am done.

. PS. I don't own one, but I was planning to get one in March until I read all these complaints. Decided to wait until next year.
It is strange that no one is mentioning these issues in the reviews. I say we take some of this ranting to other review sites. For instance, they have almost 5 stars on "Edmunds". We need to dial that down a bit, then maybe they'll start to pay attention

Also, I emailed Motorweek with a link to this thread and links to the YouTube videos cjperry1 posted.

Why did I buy a Honda? My last car was an Acura RSX (Honda Civic underneath) and I had ZERO issues with that car. Not one, not a single warranty claim on that car at all. In 60k miles, it required tires, oil and fluid changes. It was such a great car, someone else wanted it to and stole it from me. Are Honda's perfect? Of course not. But having worked in the auto repair industry, I can tell you they are about as well made mechanically of a car there is. They are super easy and inexpensive to maintain (on the V6, the rear cylinder bank is actually accessible without needing to remove the entire intake manifold, try that on most FWD V6 cars). Am I disapointed with the audio and electronics issues? Of course. However, I love the way the car drives and handles, in this aspect, Honda got this right on. The car is exactly what I was looking for, a non boring, confortable, fun to drive, relatively affordable, somewhat luxurious coupe.
Hopefully Honda will fix these issues. If it were simple, they would have had a fix already.

The 2013 is also very well built, and much better in every way. We get compliments on the look of the car quite often. That's why it's so disappointing to have the stereo sound so cheap. And that people are having issues with the nav system.
It seems like whenever they do reviews on cars the don't say much about sound systems. But I am surprised they didn't notice the Nav problems.
But, I'm still a believer in Honda, and I'm cautiously optimistic they'll fix the problems.
Is been interesting to see all the back and forth philosophical comments and posts on this particular thread. Cars are obviously an emotional topic - we spend so much time with our car and it is usually people's #2 cost after housing.
I get the feeling that Honda is committed to resolving "this" where "this" is problems and "bugs" with Bluetooth, Nav lockups, and maybe more. The release date was reported to move from February to March but that will be here soon enough.
After we see what that fixes, people will decide whether there are still issues to escalate within Honda.
