2013 Accord problems with nav. and blutooth
I wonder if this is all Accords or just a few. I've had my TL recalled for a defective airbag, but it turned out mine wasn't affected according to the serial number on the airbag. Similarly, maybe it's a faulty wiring harness or corrupted software upload that is affecting a number of cars but not all.
Is been interesting to see all the back and forth philosophical comments and posts on this particular thread. Cars are obviously an emotional topic - we spend so much time with our car and it is usually people's #2 cost after housing.
I get the feeling that Honda is committed to resolving "this" where "this" is problems and "bugs" with Bluetooth, Nav lockups, and maybe more. The release date was reported to move from February to March but that will be here soon enough.
After we see what that fixes, people will decide whether there are still issues to escalate within Honda.

This morning when I started my car (2013 Honda Accord EX-L) my radio came on but no other Stations where listed. I could not change the radio station, refresh did not work, nothing. The radio was locked for my entire comute to work!. Along with the other problems I am have having with my radio, this is a new bug for me. Seems the radio I have is getting worse!
Okay, here's an update:
I was actually able to get my Navigation to crash on command by trying to enter a certain address. Wonderful for showing the tech at my dealer the problem first hand - they really were impressed. And to be able to have it do this over and over (also hanging repeatedly) was great. They took the car in again ( second time for this complaint) and called me back in a few hours. They informed me they were ordering a new Navigation unit (Alpine?)

My question is if the Nav/Audio issues are not fixed could this be considered a "lemon law" issue? I can't imagine having to deal with this for the next 4-5 years until the car is paid off.
My fourth Honda and my third Accord....might be my last Honda.
Mike,
I would really press them on getting a new one. These units are or hopefully were defective and it's really a travesty they were put into the cars for so much money. It's been all most two weeks now and the new unit is working flawlessly.
I mean its a real difference to not have the bloody thing hang for seconds at a time not to mention no crashing and restarting. I suppose I was lucky in that 1) it could crash on demand and 2) they could not get it out of diagnostic mode once it was in the shop...that was a game changer, no other recourse but to replace! Good luck.,Pbass

Don, et.al.,
I'm 2 weeks into my Honda Accord and am seeing the same issue with the stereo locking up, however, I don't have the Navigation system. For what it is worth, I'm running an iPhone 4s. While the contact list issue may be Droid specific, the locking up issue doesn't seem to be. I've scheduled an appt to have the car looked at but am not optimistic - esp. after reading these threads. No answers yet on this side, but thought I'd offer up a few more data points.

The only problem I have with my audio system is, and I posted this in a different section here, the system sound muffled and hollow. The problem is heard on 3 of the sources I have, iPod Nano into the bluetooth socket, streaming from my iPhone 5 via bluetooth and while listening to XM.
Maybe this rumored software update will fix my problem.
I have contacted Honda customer relations and received a call back requesting that I take my car to my local dealer.
I dropped it off this morning and now let's see what they say. Here is my list of problems:
1) Static noise when you first turn on the car and stereo. It does it in all sources (FM, USB, etc) All you get is static. Turning off the radio and back on doesn't help, the only fix is to shut off car and restart. Happened 3 times so far. (see enclosed DVD for video)
2) Both screens are black on startup of the car and nothing works on the radio. Shut the car off and turn it back on and it's all back to normal. (see enclosed DVD for video)
3) No response to headlight switch, the main screen stays daylight bright immediately after starting the car and turning on the lights. Fix: turn off the lights and back on, then it dims accordingly.
4) If your wife follows you in her Honda and your cell phone is also linked to her car and you try to use it in your car, the Bluetooth connection will disconnect from your car and jump to her car.
5) If you turn off voice feedback (talks too much) you cannot voice dial a number. It all works, responds to "call Bob, mobile" and shows Bob's number, but does not dial it. If you turn the voice feedback back on, it works the same way, but actually dials the number.
6) Voice feedback "Read screens" randomly, even when the feature is turned off. (example, you tune to a radio station and it will say "101.1")
7) Navigation locked up and rebooted in the middle of a "navigation". The system stopped talking in mid-sentence, locked up (stopped moving), screen went black and system rebooted as if I had just started the car and it picked up where it left off, only after I missed like 3 turns, because I could not stop and wait for it. (see enclosed DVD for video)
8) Annoyingly slow response to everything, all the time. (music selection, destination selection, all inputs)
9) Does not display song times on During Music Search (see enclosed DVD for video)
10) Mirror camera activates randomly with turn signal (left or right) even if disabled
11) Radio preset touch screens lightens up when touched, but radio does not change stations. It can only be done by the steering wheel control. To fix it, turn the radio off and then back on.
12) When "scrolling" through the map with the round selector button, it stops responding. (see enclosed DVD for video)
13) Transmission makes a banging sound when transitioning from reverse to drive and when downshifting from overdrive or when keeping low speeds and getting back on the gas.
14) Transmission neglects to shift to 3rd gear under WOT. Only sometimes when car is filly warmed up, after driving for 30 + minutes. I would never attempt this on a cold engine, as it would damage the engine, so please don't try. I usually do not drive this way, so it's hard to say how often the happens. But it has happened twice while merging to highways and the engine revved to the fuel cut off and tried again, a couple times, until I left off the gas, then it shifted fine into 3rd gear. The fluid level is correct.

They drove my car all around (nice) and didn't find anythiung wrong with it. oh, how surprising. They decided to keep it until tomorrow to further diagnose it. So in other words, no news.
Where is my loaner car? That's right, Honda does not provide one.
Boy, this is my 5th Honda and it may be my last. I am already disappointed how things are going.
