I mean its a real difference to not have the bloody thing hang for seconds at a time not to mention no crashing and restarting. I suppose I was lucky in that 1) it could crash on demand and 2) they could not get it out of diagnostic mode once it was in the shop...that was a game changer, no other recourse but to replace! Good luck.,Pbass
Thanks a lot for the advice, if the patch doesn't fix it then I'm going to escalate it up the chain.

Wish I would have stumbled over this thread before I popped for the nav system. Just picked up a 4cyl EX-L with nav last week and LOVE the drive. So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any radio or nav lockups, but I did, within 5 minutes of really getting to USE the voice control of the navi, find a couple bugs that I was wondering if someone might be able to reproduce. I'm curious whether this is just an issue with my nav unit, or the software in general.

First off, my unit absolutely does not understand the word "Park" as a standalone word. It's in my home address, so... was pretty obvious when it didn't work. When I spell the street out and select it from the list, the voice prompt for "Park" is, literally, "eh" (like the letter). Out of curiosity, I looked it up, and it's the 5th most popular street name in the US, and the most popular street name that's not a number.

Second, when I look up an address (via voice control) going down through the "City" menu tree, at the very bottom, when it should audibly prompt me to speak the house number, it instead says "seat ventilation low", as if the voice prompt is linked to the wrong audio file.

Can someone with a navi see if your system is doing either of the above? I'd like to feed these back (along with the apparent inability to scroll through the channel list of XM on the iMid screen like models without a navi can do) to... somewhere.

Default Update

I just heard back from the dealer. Honda is aware of all my issues with theradio and is working on a total reprogram of the system, which should be readyin 2 to 4 weeks. It will be a matter ofplugging it in and reprograming it.

They have not seen the trans issue. It only happened twice. So either it will go away or enough peoplewill complain and another re-flash will fix it. It does not seem to be a mechanical problem.

Hate to keep asking, but is this fix going to address the poor audio quality as well, or just the nav/bluetooth issues?

Thanks to all for posting the updates

I think it really depends on who you talk to and who you ask. A guy posted a video yesterday on YouTube and I commented about his audio/static issues. He replied with

"I tweeted this to Honda and they finally gave me a call back. Sounds like rather than releasing a technical service bulletin, it will be a full on recall within next month. It's also supposed to fix the false alarms I have been getting on my front collision warning."

First I've heard of a full recall...so again depends on who is talked to and what they know.

I know one thing is 100% true - we are all crossing our fingers that this fixes all our issues

Thanks

Mike

When I bought my 2013 in Oct. and was so disipointed with the audio I actually got in my trunk and looked at the speakers. One look at the magnet structure told me that a software update was not going to fix the issue. It appears Honda's defintion of Prem. Audio is 7 cheap speakers in place of 4 cheap speakers. To add insult to injury the speakers are 2 ohm and I can't find any prem. 2 ohm speakers. There are a lot of Prem. 4 and 8 ohm speakers but the Honda amp won't drive them. Honda rates their amp at 365 watts. That rating is P-P which is an inflated number. They screwed us coming and going!

I just got back from the dealer with what appears to be an additional problem on my 2013 Accord V6 EX-L with Nav. The hard drive is now completely non functional. Have several hours of music recorded to it but it will not recognize anything. CD's take forever to read and load, if they will at all, and they will no longer record to hard drive. Same with USB input it does not recognize it and will not play from it. Dealer has no clue. They said they are contacting Honda tech support to try to get answers. Combined with the poor audio and other hangups with the sound/nav system I am beginning to not like this car.

Yeah, I'm starting to worry as well. I was wondering if our subwoofer was even working the bass is so weak, until I found this forum and realized it's not just me.
I just don't see how a software update is going to fix the poor audio quality. I'm just glad my wife drives it most of the time. She's not so concerned with it.
We're going to St Louis this weekend which is a 3.5 hour drive. I plan on driving my 2011 F150 instead of her new Accord because of this problem. It has a premium system that actually sounds really good.
It's a shame after spending the money for a top of line model that we have to tolerate such a poor system. Hopefully Honda has a fix, but I'm not holding my breath.

But I do hope the software update at least fixes the nav issue for the people who spent the extra money.

Bottom line, we all deserve better!

Once again spoke with Honda for the 3rd time in 3 weeks and after being told that the fix would be available at the end of February, they are now telling me another 2 weeks. I'm afraid that this could drag on for another month or two if not longer.

Did they say if the fix is just for nav or is going to fix audio quality.
Yeah, they'll just keep saying "2 more weeks".
