Question Question on Isimple PXAMG/PGHHD1

I have a 2009 Accord with Nav. I have an Isimple PXAMG gateway that works great with my old Ipod (Nano early model).

I wanted to use my Iphone 4 (IOS5) so I plugged it in and I can control it OK but the audio plays from the Iphone not the stereo. I tried AUX 2 to see if that would work but I get "Nada". It seems like I need an update on the firmware (there is one available that now makes the ipod look like a CD player). I don't have a problem doing that, but, it is working now on my old Ipod and I am afraid that if I update it it may no longer work on either.

Anybody got any experience on this?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I suspect the update would not change compatibility with the older unit, just improve compatibility with newer units.

i know this is not ideal but my eq has two channels. one I have plugged in with a headphone to a two way splitter. That is what I use on my phone. I do not have control over the phone through the head unit (in fact I dont have a head unit, well not a working one) but it does play through my speakers.

Thanks, you guys! Good feedback!

I saw something over on the Acura forums and I think I have found my final solution.

I contacted iSimple Tech support via e-mail. I got a quick reply (thank you iSimple) that a swap program is available for the older units @ $29.95. This evidently has a compatability change that enables the Iphone 4 to work with the unit. I am going to order one Monday. I will post my results here when I "get 'er done".

If you need this change, you have to send the old unit back to them within 30 days or they bill you for a new one ($160.00 yikes). Also, you can only request this thru tech support.

My ipod is pretty old and I think the battery is going soon so the Iphone issue is important to me. Thanks again guys!

Cheers,

Dave
