i think you should buy some online. way cheaper...
And also much more likely to be remanufactured, repaired or out right knock offs. You can get some smoking deals thru authorized retailers like Cardomain and Crutchfield, you just have to do some digging. Plus youll get full warranty coverage and brand spankin' new in box gear straight from the manufacturer.

ported boxers are louder and they will last you 2x longer.
if you haev only a box with no port. the bass is creating tension and perssure isnt released while its hitting.
No offense, but this is kind of ridiculous. If your box is coming apart then its not because its sealed, but because you didnt build it right.

Also, a ported box will usually be louder BUT only at its tuned frequency. A sealed box will have a much flatter response curve and be louder over the whole spectrum. On top of that, a ported box will roll off severly below its tuned frequency so your bass will be very one note'ish.

I ported my subs myself and it made a huge difference in sound.
Im sure it made a difference. Unless you made the box bigger, tuned it to the frequency best suited for the subs using T/S parameters and calculated the proper length and width of the port, it made it sound a lot worse. This is another downside to ported boxes, theyre much harder to get right and are much less forgiving of design and construction flaws. With a sealed box, you take the manufacturers recommended enclosure size, build it, drop a sub in there and start listening.

my friend had a smaller box then me 2, 10 inchkickers nd he turned his on full 24/7. the box shifted so much the nail grinded the wood and the box was useless..
Then the box was made poorly. A poorly made ported box will come apart just as easily - and sound worse. Its true there will be more pressure inside a sealed box but all you have to do is build it right and itll last forever.

depending on subs.. its basically quality i guess.
kickers are more for boom boom bass, while JL audio is very smooth, not as loud but very smooth. nd JL audio is raelly pricey..
Both Kicker and JL Audio are excellent subs. I personally know a 2 time world champion in SQ that uses a Kicker L7 and I personally know a couple SPL world champions that use JL Audio. A high quality sub can do both. And while JL's are pricey, theyre also better in build quality and performance. The W7 is a benchmark in audio engineering.

I would say get the infinity kappa perfects, 2 twelves with a 1000 watt amp, sounds great, i would't get anything bigger than twelves because my 10" make my trunk rattle doesnt sound to good with the rattle. I dont like ported thats just me though you honestly get more hit with a sealed box. and Oh yea i would get them off the internet its a whole lot cheaper but you dont get to hear it before.

What I meant is that you give complete answers and opinions about what people ask. These are well though out posts and are very informative. When you are finished, there is very little left unanswered if anything at all. I and many others here appreciate your efforts Mac!

If you want clarity without too much thump i would go with Diamonds. They are very expensive but well worth it. I would do two CM3 or TDX series 10's in a sealed box. Pair those to a 500 watt class D amp (eithera Memphis JL or Diamond) and you should be happy. By the way out of those amps Diamond is the only one that will offer a 5year replacement if you blow it.
