Default RE: 05 v6 tranny in a 98 car

i thinking the bolting pattern is the same, but the transmission control unit is completely different. im sure it could be done somehow, but make no mistake it would tax the limits of even the best mechanic just because of how rarely it is done. the harness plug is probably completely different on the two models you may just want to clip it. then if you are good at wiring you could put it all back together, you would need a wiring diagram and a multimeter, the two trannies work on the same principal. speed, load, incline, throttle position sensor, etc. my advice is to get a period correct transmission for your car, even if it costs a little more money. theres nothing better than plug and play
