05 v6 tranny in a 98 car

Default 05 v6 tranny in a 98 car

i was wonder if the v6 tranny out of a 05 coupe will fit in 98 v6 4 door. i think the 05 has a 5 speed auto if so how can i make it work

i thinking the bolting pattern is the same, but the transmission control unit is completely different. im sure it could be done somehow, but make no mistake it would tax the limits of even the best mechanic just because of how rarely it is done. the harness plug is probably completely different on the two models you may just want to clip it. then if you are good at wiring you could put it all back together, you would need a wiring diagram and a multimeter, the two trannies work on the same principal. speed, load, incline, throttle position sensor, etc. my advice is to get a period correct transmission for your car, even if it costs a little more money. theres nothing better than plug and play
