Haven't done it but I am guessing it is not easy.

I would buy/go find a Chilton's manual. I have a Haynes, but haven't looked for head gasket replacement. Good luck!

Did you run (and failed) a compression test, or you're losing coolant - see steam out of tailpipe, or the oil has foam in it?
Replacing the head gasket is an involved job b/c you need to remove "half of the engine" to get to it, then you need gaskets (head, exhaust/intake manifolds, etc), torque wrench and torque specs, may need new head bolts if they don't measure right, etc. Then you need to torque it right, put the manifolds back on, adjust the timing - speaking of which you'll have to remove the crank pulley bolt, there's plenty of material on this forum about that.
Also, if you want to run the tests for a failed HG, there's material on this forum.
