Default misefire problem (86 accord)

So i have a 1986 accord dx, 2brl carb 4 cylender with a manual transmission. I have replaced the distributor, cap and rotor, plug wires, plugs. I believe the timing is on, set to 24 btdc with the vacume advance on. Still has a misefire at 2000 rpm and up. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I plan on replacing the coil just for the heck of it next pay check.

Yes, I have a soft heart for the 3rd gens

You really need to check the timing belt....pull the valve cover and then the upper timing belt cover and be sure when #1 is at tdc the cam marks line up to the head....and the mark on the flywheel is at tdc.

Next, trying to set the timing with the vac advance still plugged in, well you are better than me. I always pull and plug the proper hose...think, memory that it is the upper one one the dist.

How long have you had the car....and the issue?

Bout the car in january. Had a valve job and head resurfaced, all new gasgets, new timing belt, water pump and pully, new belts, cleaned the carb, new water hoses, and what i mentioned before. As far as the timing, my book isnt very clear on how its done. Everything is set to tdc. I have set the timing to the 24 mark with the vacume advance on and with it off, the car runs pretty much the same. But im trying to pass smog, so i am also going to check the pvc valve and the egr valve.
