Not really sure if this is where this goes but here is my problem. i just got a cat-back system put on and it works great. Recently, when i accelerate slowly around 20mph and it shifts to 2nd (auto tranny) it grind for a little bit, i cant quite tel where the sound is comign from but i think it's up front. Please help with this if you need more info ask me. Thanks in advance.

does it sound like a grinding tranny or a vibrating heat sheild? does it do it at all when the car is sitting in neutral and you rev it a little bit? have you checked your tranny fluid recently?

I was going to check the tranny fluid but haven't yet. As far as i know, it only does it when you're actually moving, i hven't noticed it when i just rev it up. As for the sound, it sounds like the tranny i think but i don't know. I haven't touched the heat shield.

The reason I mentioned the heat sheild is because you put a new catback exhaust on and if it was done slightly wrong or even just coincidence then the shields around your cat converter could rattle etc... it's only between that one gear that you notice it?

The cat-back was done with custom piping, he cut it off just after the cat and welded the pipe directly over the existing pipe. And yes, that is when i seem to notice it, i only noticed it one other time other than just after it shifts to 2nd. So should i jack the car up and check the heat shield on the cat? If so what am i looking for?
