Default Tranny swap with a twist!

I've owned my 2000 Accord LX since 2003 and I love it. The engine is in great condition only 68K on the car. Only problem is that I find myself hating stick more and more and the accord is my 3rd car I find myself rarely driving it at all. I know many ppl swap out the automatic tranny for a 5 spped but have never heard of a 5spr for an automatic swap. If I were to do this what would I have to get besides the auto tranny the pedal and the odometer. With this swap do I loose my mileage? Thanks a ton.

Best thing would be find someone locally who wants to do the opposite swap. You'll need to swap pedals (obviously) but also half of the stuff in the center console. Swap ECU since the auto-tranny is electronically controlled by the A/T version of the engine control unit (no longer separate engine & tranny controllers).

Then before you start, get together & decide if it's easier just to trade cars.

Its just that the car is mink with 68K on the dash I doubt that I'll find a car with 68K to swap for. By swapping the computers will I loose my mileage and adopt the donor vehicles mileage?

I'm not sure. I sorta remember someone posting about how you can swap a circuit board out of the speedometer/odometer, where the miles are stored. That thread was talking about replacing a bad speedometer, so I'm not sure if that board-swap would work between a manual & automatic cluster.
