Its not hard if you have the correct tools. I have done it to other cars and on my Honda I had someone else do it. I had both replaced with new ones and with labor it was $500. Don't go the cheap route and buy from Autozone and the like. For a few more $s you can get a good axle.

I first went to a Firestone dealer because I thought it was something wrong with my tires and they told me that my right front bearing was bad and referred me to a trans shop. I went to the trans shop and they called me up and said both my axles were bad and needed replacement. They said that the only way they could find out if my axles were indeed bad was just replacing them and seeing what happened. So, they did that before talking to me and having me approve the work and I was told if I didn't want to go through with it they would put the old axles back on. I decided to go with the work and now my car drives like it is new again. It cost me $400 to replace the axles at this shop.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Wheel bearing just didn't make any sense as the cause.

they should have just replaced one axle at a time and test driven the car .. I doubt very much that both inner cv joints were bad .......possible but very unlikely ,,,

They did replace one axle at a time he said the vibration got 70% better after the right axle was replaced then completely gone when the left axle was replaced. All in all the mechanic said it took 5 test drives but they finished my car in 2.5 hours.

“vibration got 70% better” The first garage I worked at used to tell the customer when the guess was wrong “ It is a lot better but still needs _____________ (the second guess)

that was their way to say,,,,,,OOOOPS we replaced the wrong axle ,,,
But you know what.....the most important thing is that your car is fixed and you are satisfied with the repairs ..
Thanks for letting us know what the fix was ..
