1999 Cruise Control Not Working 4Cyl
I have a 1999 accord coupe and the cruise is not working on it now... I can turn it on to the left of the wheel and the light turns on but when I hit it on the steering weel nothing happens it doesn't hold the speed. Should something on the dash tell me when its enguaged? Just bought the car as a project and didn't think of checking that when bought it...
What are the steps to take to check to make sure everything is right before I take it in to have it check?
Thanks for the help!

Does the speedo and tach work normally? The biggest things that are going to mess that up would be the VSS sensor, improperly adjusted brake switch, or improperly adjusted clutch pedal if it's a manual that is...
Try this (if speedo/tach are working), when driving put your foot behind the brake pedal and lift up on it then try the cruise, if it works then the brake just needs adjustment...

Thanks for the quick reply... The speedo and tach work fine, the car was well taken care of. I will give that a shot today and hope it works... I will also do the clutch as well that was just replaced before I bought it so it sounds like it can be that. I will check the cables tonight if I get a chance and go from there.
Thanks

The clutch peddle has play it it and doesn't look like it was adjusted correctly... So I am guessing that is the problem so I will give thata show when I get home and see what that does. I just wanted to make sure that if the peddle is not adjusted correctly that can cause it not to work.
Thanks

Clutch pedal should have a little play. Look at the clutch switch. The switch should move as soon as the clutch pedal is slightly depressed. Switch should be closed (short) when clutch pedal is not depressed, and open after a short clutch pedal travel. If misadjusted switch may be open all the time, disabling CC.
