2000 EX 5MT / front end clunking/vibration
Just turned 220K on my Accord. Began to hear some clunking about two weeks ago, and now it seems much more pronounced. Only notice the problem when I hit bumps, but today I had a BMW on my butt when I was exiting a cloverleaf off the highway and decided to leave him, which I do often. Today however, I hit a rough patch of road and the car not only made the normal "clunking" noise but the steering wheel began to vibrate. I've ordered a new strut/spring Assy, which I'll have Thursday. Hope this fixes it, I may also change the stabilizer bars/links. Can anyone make any other suggestions?
Do an inspection before replacing the suspension parts that may or may not be broken. Oil leaking on the strut, broken spring, noise from the say bar, loose ball joints, tie-rod ends, etc..
Here is a good video on how to do this.

Thanks PAHonda. I'll jack the car up tomorrow and see if I can find anything loose. I did the bounce test on the front and did hear some clunking, it seems to be coming from the right side. I did check the motor mounts and they look good. I'll check the cross member to make sure it is tight.
Rechecked the motor mounts today and found a crack in the front mount. It looks like it's a combination of the front motor mount and the struts. I'll change out the struts/springs tomorrow and see if that helps. In the meantime, I'm ordering a new front mount.
Feeling like a foooool!
Received the struts today and was ready to install when I noticed that the plastic "skid plate" or whatever you call it was loose and thumping on the cross member. There were only 3 plastic pins holding it on. I removed it and took a drive. The only noises I heard was normal road noise.
