Default 2000 Honda Accord starts jerking after driving about 30 miles

I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX that starts jerking after driving it about 30 miles. Has anyone experienced this and how did you fix it?

Is it automatic or manual transmission? If automatic, does your D lamp flash? (that's like a check-engine light for the transmission)

Does it happen at a particular speed?

What does the tachometer do when it happens?

It could be caused by so many different things that it doesn't help to know what the cause was on someone else's car. We have to figure it out for your car.

Thanks for the comment! It’s an automatic transmission, no D light flashes, the rpms don’t move when it jerks and it doesn’t do it at any particular speed. Some have said it could be the fuel filter?

Any codes present? Just asking as after I cleaned out the EGR passage, I started to get an up/down rpm surge? going on. Turned out the Idle control valve had decided to go bad at that time (was doing it in the driveway in park). I may have had an air pocket in the little hose to it, but I swapped it out, then let it do a relearn, and it's been good to go for the last 28K miles or 4 years now. Another way to test for this, is to let it warm up, then turn on the AC. If it goes away for the most part, then it's the IAC valve. If it doesn't go away, then you have more looking to do.

Just so you know, the fuel filter in 98 on cars have the fuel filter in the tank, ahead of the pump.
I hope this helps.

Hey Toe Cutter, I had the codes pulled today and they’re saying it pulled a distributor code which I had replaced about 2 years ago! I’m taking it back in the morning and we’ll see if this takes care of it and I’ll keep both of you updated! He also said they reset the load equalizer today but it was still jerking after. My car also cut off on me 4 times back to back and almost wouldn’t start back up!

It really helps to know the code number, something like P1234. There's a few different codes related to the distributor.

And what's a "load equalizer"?

That's what I was going to ask. I've never heard of that one.
