Unhappy 2001 Honda Accord Ex 4cyl Misfire issue...

As vehicle stated above, my car has a mis on Cyl 2. P0302. Tried replacing plugs, wires, distributor, battery. (they were all most likely due anyway) The car only noticeably misses at idle. Before i had done the work mentioned, it would have a rough idle and try to catch itself. Now after, whenever I press in the clutch or come to a stop and the rpms go below 1000, the car will die and i'll have to restart it. Any tips or leads you have would be greatly appreciated. If you want to know anything more, just leave a reply saying so. Thanks again Honda buddies.

first did the repairs you did solve the P0302 code? from your current symptom of dying when you come to a stop, it sounds like you may have a gummed up IAC valve. (idle air control)

The repairs i made did not solve the misfire. I still do currently have the miss on cyl 2. But yes I will look to see if the IAC is the idle issue.

So i ended up taking it into a honda dealer and they told me i have low compression on cylinder 2, potentially on the valve side. Now i'm trying to figure out what i want to do.
1) Tear it apart, repair the original motor thats at 168k miles.
2) Tear it, but build it so its basically a new motor + ready for mods
3) swap it out with a different motor (if i were, id want advice on what to swap w/)

obviously option 1 would be the cheapest, but 2 and 3 would begin to assist me on the longrun of making it a little faster.
Any further advice is appreciated.

Valve clearances checked to rule out a tight valve on #2?
