Default 2002 keyless entry help

a long time ago my battery on my remote was dying. It was getting less responsive to further ranges and what not. I replaced the battery and the remote stopped working.

Flash forward to today. Today i realized this thing has to be reprogrammed so i followed the instructions listed here:

http://www.handa-accessories.com/crv/KEYLESSPROG.pdf

Anyways, i cant get it to work for the life of me. I know the remote is getting power because if i press the "unlock" button the light will stay on solid red for a long time or until i remove the battery for a while. whats going on with this thing?

I don't know what's going on with the remote, but those instruction match what I got from the Helm book. They've worked for me on a couple Hondas.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery from the car and the key fob, then reprogramming?

That's okay! Your "key fob" is your "remote".

Try disconnecting both batteries, then reprogramming. Let me know!

You need to have the remote close to the sensor when you program it. I believe it is behind the glove box. Just had to go through the same thing with my Odyssey
