Default 2003 Accord LX problem with the Cruise Control tripping off while driving

This problem has been going on for about a month now. Had a new ECU flashed over and the car is running, but the cruise control is still tripping due to something. I don't have the slightest clue as where to begin, any thoughts?

Ok, so far I have found that the brake switch could be going bad in the car, or possibly the actual switch that is suppose to hold the chosen speed. Anything else that could be the issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Brake light would be first thing to check. Even a brief brake application causes cruise control to drop off.

Do you lose the set point when drop-off occurs ? If yes, this would suggest perhaps a fault in the on/off switch on the column or dash.

good luck

No, today I drove it maybe 50 miles with cruise on and had zero issues. brake lights work amazing- no trouble with them at all...yes, the set point is lost when the cruise control trips, but not if you tap the brakes.

Set point being lost suggest a fault in on/off switch. It's likely a microswitch on the steering column.

Shop manual necessary for detailed fault diagnosis. You can buy an emanual from automanualsource.com for $21.99 for your vehicle.

good luck
