2004 Honda Accord EX v6
I have a 2004 honda accord Ex V6
Im having an odd problem.
Yesterday my engine light and Traction control light came on.
My car will not go above 2,000 RPM. It is drivable. But TCS wont allow me to drive above that. My fluids are all good. It bucks. The code i got was PO223. I had the throttle petal sensor (accelerator petal sensor) replaced with the 6 terminal. But it didn't fix the issue. Now i got 2 other codes.
It seems the throttle is free and not stuck. Mechanic claims now it could be the throttle body motor butterfly is bad.
Im freaking because i don't want a new car or to fix computer.
We cant clear the codes. One new code says idle unlearned something.
So its driving but slow.

P0223 and another idle unlearned.
I think i was wrong in my post. I replaced accelarator position sensor which is in left corner. Not the actual throttle position sensor which is located in the the throttle body.
That did not fix my problem. The accelerator sensor. So my car is in limp mode and wont go over 2,000 rpm. Its got engine light. all fluids and air filter is good. Did i not replace the right thing?

What is the significance of the 6-terminal sensor? Was the 6-terminal APP sensor the same as the original, or did you have to do some re-wiring?
A new accelerator position sensor will require a relearn by your PCM. Did your mechanic try the relearn, or does your tool have the relearn? I'd also do the idle relearn as well.

The problem was. he replaced the accelerator pedal sensor that hooks to the firewall of the left corner of the car under the hood. That's not the actual throttle / accelerator position sensor that is found on the throttle body.
So i got P0223 and throttle position butterfly and unlearned position abd idle code. Do i nees to replace just the throttle position sensor that attaches to tje body? or replace entire throttle body?
You can try the appropriate relearn procedure if your scanner can handle this. Did your scanner give another code, like p0123?
I recommend getting a shop manual for your car. automanualsource.com has them as pdfs for ~$22. Worth the investment IMO.
Looking at the diagnostics for P0223, the problem can be the throttle position sensor in the throttle body, the actuator control module (inside the car), or damaged wiring. Honda doesn't sell the TP sensor, just the throttle body assembly, so the part is expensive. I always recommend some troubleshooting if you have the ability.
