I have a 2012 Accord Coupe with a V6 - auto trans. My neighbor has a 2012 Accord sedan V6 with Auto trans. He says he is getting around 33 MPG. I drive mine on the highway, and most of the time the Ecom light is on. I am lucky to be getting 26 mpg.

any thoughts on this?

 

How are you calculating mpg? How many miles are on the car? Have you done any modifications?

 

Maybe he drives slower speeds than you do or maybe he doesn't hit the gas pedal as hard as you do on every take off.
This could be 2 of many reasons member..

I call BS. I drive mine like its made out of glass and I get 27 average overall and I do get 33 all freeway driving but who does all freeway driving. I doubt he's really getting 33 especially on a V6.

 

It was getting around 23 MPG, and then I added K&N intake, and the RV6-J pipe and that boosted it up to around 26 city/highway driving - I really don't think he know how to calculate MPG's

 

FWIW, I rather doubt the K&N and the pipe did anything to improve your fuel economy.
