Default 4th gen windshield wiper issue

I'm having a problem with my driver side windshield wiper striking the pillar between the windshield and driver side window. it usually only happens when it it set to higher speeds or when the vehicle is traveling at more than 50mph. I also noticed the passenger side wiper isn't making very good contact with the windshield. can these problems be fixed with minor adjustments?

Default RE: 4th gen windshield wiper issue

If the windshield wiper arm was mispositioned on the driveshafts (a splined joint), then the wiper arm can be removed and repositioned correctly to be nearer bottom edge of windshield.

More likely the motor drive mechanism has worn and allows too much movement. The mechanism joints are loose and new drive movements will be needed to fix.

good luck
