89 Accord LXI Fuel Problem ?
My Accord Might Start 15 Times In A Row Then It Might Just Spin And Never Hit A Lick. Then Sometimes It Will Start And Its Like Its Flooding And If You Hold The Gas Pedal 1/3 Way Down For About 10 Seconds It Will Clear Up And Smooth Out And Run Fine. When It Just Spins I Can Spray Starter Fluid In It And It Will Start. I Put A New Fuel Filter On The Fire Wall But It Did Not Fix It. Where Should I Look For The Problem Now. ( This Problem Did Not Start Until I Put A New Head Gasket On It ) Thanks Again
There is a problem with fuel delivery, but you need to do some more diagnosis to determine what is causing the problem.
I'd start by testing for power to the fuel pump when you turn the key to start the car. A volt meter will work here, but running a 12V test light from the yellow wire to the fuel pump and ground. There is an access port either in the trunk near the back seat, or under the back seat. That fuel pump should get power when the key is turned to start the vehicle. A 12V test light is easier to see if you have power.
Another item you can test is fuel pressure. Do you have a fuel pressure tester?
Since this problem started with a head gasket replacement, can you describe what happened and the steps you took to replace the head gasket?
