It is located in the trunk, as shown in the owner's manual. See images.

It should be taped with blue tape to the wire harness.

yea. i got that. but what i am saying is where do i wire it to the hitch? there has to be an opening somewhere to get outside of the trunk area to bring the trailer wiring down by the hitch. right?

Looks like people just run the wire out the trunk area and close the trunk on top of it when they are using it.

someone has to have put one in and figured out something so you dont have to let it hang out the trunk.

On the 95, I just "ball" it up and tuck it to the left/drivers side, inside the trunk, when not in use. When we use the trailer, just connect and close the trunk on the wires....Orig owner towed a bass boat, so those wires have been thru heck-they do have split loom around them but still work 15 years later.....It only "hangs" out while towing, and while towing who can really see how or where the wires are?

It's not like the trailer wiring gets crushed by the trunk lid, as the weatherstripping will just compress where the wire lays on it.

If you want, you can drill a hole at the bottom, insert a grommet in the drilled hole, and have a short run of wire and a connector outside. Then when you need to tow something, plug the external trailer wiring to the connector.
