My accord still skipping. 2.3 vtec. Tuned up, seafoamed, good compression. Pulled codes, po303, p1259, p1491. Any of these make start skipping little after warm up. Upper rpms skip not noticable. Help!

 

p1491 is an EGR problem

p1259 is a problem with the vtec. Check the electrical connections for vtec solenoid corrosion. Check that your oil level is not low, because vtec runs off of oil pressure.

P0303 is a misfire in cylinder 3. When was the last time you changed your spark plugs?

I would start with p1491. You have to remove the upper part of the intake manifold. Fixing this could solve P0303.

P1259 is likely not related to the other two and can cause the car to run poorly too.

 

I have new ngk plat plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Is the vtec soli right there by the egr valve. It has a small leak around gasket where it mounts. I run mobil 1 run 5w30. Does the vtec soli have 3 square holes with one that has a screen over it. I have had it off and cleaned out with garb cleaner while back.

 

That is the vtec solenoid. The oil leak could be dropping pressure as to cause a problem. I am not sure if carb cleaner could damage something inside.
