Is it possible to replace a/c compressor bearings and/or clutch? Clutch very noisy when not in use. 02 accord.

Yes, it's possible. Hard part is getting to the compressor to remove the clutch assy.

You will need to remove PS and alternator, remove 4 bolts that hold compressor to engine bracket. This allows enough space to rotate compressor, access the clutch face and remove the single 6mm? bolt holding the clutch plate. This allow clutch plate to come off. Next, you'll need to use C-clip pliers to remove a C-clip that holds the clutch coil to the compressor. Once this clip is removed, the coil w/ bearing can be removed by tapping on coil w/ rubber hammer.

The bearing can be pressed or driven out. There may be "stakings" that retain the bearing to the coil. They will need to be ground away w/ dremel.

This applies to most Accords. However, you should include your vehicle info in your signature line.

good luck

Sometimes you can get a good used compressor and put it in quicker than just replacing bearing.
