Default burning coolant smell when accelerate

hi guys, i noticed since a couple of days ago that whenever I step on the accelerate, i can actually smell the coolant as if its burning. i have checked the coolant, and its not overflowing, i also noticed some of the coolant was weeping from my hose... but i think that is not enough to get that burning smell...
is there anything wrong with my radiator?
or my engine?
thanx
