Or with the key in pos II, check the voltage on the BLK/YEL wire going to the dist.....what is the reading....and for giggles, what is the voltage reading on the battery - both at rest and when trying to start the car?

 

UPDATE!! so i researched what you guys suggested about the ignition switch and BINGO! the symptoms that it creates resembles my issues. cross my fingers and purchase the ignition switch, installed it, and its FIXED! thanks for the help guys, really appreciated.
