a/cwont cool at slow speeds
My a/c works fine on the highway, but once I get into stop and go traffic, it starts to warm up. Compressor's working and fan is running. Is this a symptom of over charging maybe?

hmmm...sounds like there is more to the story then you are telling us.

The story is; new compressor and rec/dryer. evac the system. held fine. put in the prescribed amt of freon. Didn't cool real well around town. I made the mistake of adding more freon without gages after the initial ones. On the highway and around town until the car gets warmed up, its cold. But the temp climbs and it cools much less. if i shut off the a/c the temp gage goes back to a normal range.
Both fans working with a/c on. no debris in the radiator or condensor. Washed it out with water. The only thing I can think of is if overcharging can cause this symptom or if the expansion valve can cause this. Thats one thing i didnt change due to its location.
Side note. I tried to put in a signature but for some reason it says im not allowed to enter a signature. Hello. Administrator

Can't enter a signature?
Your user profile says "user awating email confirmation". I think there's an email with a link for you to reply, then some of that stuff will begin working. You might have to go back & find it. I don't know how to generate a new email, but if you can't find it we can ask the admin.

I live in an area where its often over 100f with 80% humidity and the temp reads quite cool as long as Im not running a/c. But I gues Ill start with checking out the radiator and thermostat. I need to take it to someone who has a recovery machine so they can remove the freon and recharge it with the exact amt required.
