dlc loose

Angry dlc loose

i just went to get my emissions test for my car and they told me that the dlc was loose on my car... its where they plug in their computer to the car.. i looked and i didnt even see a place for me to plug it in... i see it and all i just dont know where to plug it in to the car... oh and its a 2000 accord se I4

You don't have to plug the DLC into anything. It is there for the sole purpose of plugging a computer or a scanner to monitor the engine computer.

I'm guessing the the plug came loose from its bracket. I would guess that it either snaps into some part of the plastic below the steering column or is bolted into place.

the thing is that i looked and i didnt even see a bracket to place that too... and i cant pass my emmisions test if its not on there...

Not under the steering column exactly. On my '98 it was over to the left, almost at the kick panel.

I sure am glad I live in Mississippi and we don't have to worry about emissions tests. That would drive me insane! They seriously wouldn't pass you for emissions because the thing was loose? That is absolutely RIDICULOUS!

yeah they couldnt even plug in their computer like that... it had to be in the bracket

Well, it sounds pretty pathetic that the tester couldn't just snap it into place & then test it. But probably they aren't ALLOWED to do any kind of "repair" for fear of litigation.
