Help! 94 Honda Accord Will Not Turn Over
Its been like this for the past 3 days and its starting to get annoying. It
cranks with full power but wont turn over. I've had a very good shade
tree mechanic look to look at it and its not the fuel system, it's not the
main relay, not the battery because Ive already had a jumpstart, opened
distributor and cleaned up the corrosion. Still wont start! He even
verified that it wasnt the starter and he is pretty good but I know anyone
can make a mistake. I know for the past couple of months every now and
then I would go out to start the car and nothing....no lights...no sound..
absolutely nothing. The five minutes later it would start up, then I
remembered the previous owner told me that the car was stolen years
ago but recovered quickly by the police. Just throwing this out there
incase that may have something to do with my problem. Any help will
be appreciated. Its a 4 cyclinder 4-door sedan

He cleaned up corrosion in the distributor, but did he check for spark? Will it light-up a timing light?
How about fuel system... If he checked the fuel pump and fuel pressure, that doesn't prove the injectors are firing. See if it fires (for a couple seconds) on starter-fluid.

everything was checked! The sparks were firing, the fuel system works,
starter works, but something is preventing it from getting a complete fire to
the engine. I verified the fuel system by smelling the exaust...you can smell
pure gasoline after I try to crank it up.

Try this...
After trying to start, disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel-pressure regulator. There should NOT be any fuel in there.
If there's fuel in that vacuum line, your FPR is ruptured, allowing fuel to leak directly into the intake manifold. That floods the engine & it won't start. If it's flooded badly, you do a few things...
1. Replace the FPR.
2. Remove all 4 spark plugs, unplug the distributor wiring harness, & pull the fuel pump fuse.
3. Crank the starter for 20 or 30 seconds to blow any remaining liquid fuel out.
4. Maybe allow any remaining fuel to evaporate.
5. Put it back together & try again.

Word of advice! Never get the engine wet!!!!! That was the problem!!! I had degreased the engine two weeks ago and I didn't start having problems till days later
with the misfire of the spark plugs. I am relieved that it wasn't nothing else!!!!!!

Try checking for spark leakage. Cold engine, complete darkness (like 4am).
1 Open hood & turn off all the lights.
2 Start the engine & look at the distributor & plug wires.
3 Any visible arcing (flash or dull blue glow) indicates poor insulation.
It's possible the degreaser has caused deterioration of the rubber insulation of the plug wires. Most likely if the insulation wasn't perfect before you washed it. Once this happens, there's no cleaning it; the rubber has microscopic cracks where the spark can leak out.
