Default Help! I'm an idiot... clutch return spring and stripped line fitting

So I was changing my clutch master and I took note of how the spring was installed when I removed it, but now I can't get it back on the way i remember it! Does anyone have a photo of the thing installed? Or can someone please describe how it fits in. I believe the coils should be towards the cabin(away from firewall), but that results in a spring that holds the pedal down the way i did it.

I am a fool, I know....... soneone please bail me out here...

Another problem that i doubt will be easily fixed is that the line fitting for the master cylinder is stripped to the point that my 12mm line wrench wont grab it enough to loosen. What do i do now? Any tricks to getting hard to reach line bolts off?

Thanks guys, you're all lifesavers.

Well i got the master installed but I'm still unable to get any resistance with or without the spring in. I can't shift into any gears either, the shifter wont allow me to put it into any gear, 1-5 or R.

What's up with that?

There are special tubing flare nut wrenches that allow these nuts to be loosened w/o stripping the nut. I would suggest taking a file to the nut and try to square the corners. Get a set of flare nut wrenches (~ $5) and you should be OK. If you have really buggered the nut you may need to cut tubing, remove old nut, install new nut, and splice tubing w/ a tubing union.

good luck

Wont go into gear with the engine running I assume? Have you bled the clutch yet? If not there is air in the lines and it's not gonna work. Theres a bleeder on the slave cylinder...
