hi i just bought a 1998 honda accord lx 5 speed coupe and it drives one day normal one day it acts up , when i accelerate the rpms go up but the speed goes up real slow , i tested the clutch at slow speed put it in 4 gear and it was normal, its a stock car and no lights are on, also the red line is at 6k but my honda accord stops just over 5k

 

From your descrition (rpm goes up by car is not accelerating), the clutch is slipping. This is usually more noticeable at higher gears (3-5).

Is Check Engine Light on? Does CEL come on for 2 secs and go off when car is started?
