Honda fuel system problems
Hey guys
Basically, my 1991 Accord LX overheated and quit on me. Not sure why it overheated... but I tried to start it yesterday to find out and it wouldn't start. It would turn over, just not fire.
I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is working... (When I turn on the car, the yellow light comes on on my dash and I hear a "whirring" sound for a couple seconds) But I'm not getting any fuel to my fuel rail. I don't think I am out of gas... my gauge still shows 1/4 tank... could it possibly be the ECM? I don't know much about the Honda fuel system.. any help will be appreciated.
Could this and the overheating problem be related?
Thank you. I really appreciate it.

Overheating should not cause your fuel problem, so you may be dealing with two different problems. How hot did the engine get? Check that the radiator is full of coolant by removing the radiator cap when the engine is cold.
I would add a gallon of gas so you can rule out an inaccurate fuel gauge.
Since you hear the fuel pump prime, that would indicate the main fuel relay (MFR) is working. You can do the same test with the fuel line removed and jump the connector for the MFR just to be thorough.
