Default How do you flush out the coolant in this thing?

If it is all aluminum and I'm not supposed to put tap water in it, how do I flush it all out? I don't have air right now.. Will it like regular green coolant?

Thanks

Here's what I usually do...

- Turn temperature dial all the way to HOT so heater core can drain/fill.
- Remove thermostat so it flows right through - bolt-up housing without gasket.
- Flush with garden hose in & out every which way.
- Fill with garden hose, run engine for 40-50 seconds to circulate.
- Drain & look at the color in the pan. Repeat fill/drain until it's sorta clear.
- Fill/drain with distilled water maybe 2 or 3 times - should be pretty clear.
- Install thermostat with gasket.
- Add antifreeze (1/2 of total volume per spec usually is about 0.8 gallons)
- Top up with distilled water; you'll notice it takes a lot less because of water hanging out from last drain.

Normal green Prestone is silicate-free these days, but read the label. It's hybrid-OAT which I've been told is sorta more tolerant of minerals in tap-water anyway.

The amount of water that cannot drain is the reason I don't like to use pre-mixed 50/50 antifreeze.
