Low Beams Gone Dark
#2
You will have to do some electrical testing to figure out the problem.
Was any work done on your car before you lost the low beams? Was the car in an accident?
The #1 and #6 fuses in the box under the hood protect the headlight. Check to see if they are ok. You can also test to find out if they fuse has power on both sides using a volt meter or test light with lights switched on.
This will get tricky electrically to test, because there are control units integrated in the relay module and the light switch. How good are you at testing electrical circuits? Or do you have access to a scanner/code reader? Maybe stop by a parts store and have them scan for codes. Their scanner may be able to read a body/communication code.

Thanks, PAhonda. There's been no accident and no work was done before they went out. Probably aging, like the owner. I did check both fuses, they're both good. I'll check the voltage at the fuses, but I have a feeling it's probably the switch or some relay, all of which is out of my league.

Relays are usually easy to test. You can switch identical relays, then see if the headlights start working, while the defroster doesn't. The headlight relays are part of the relay control module, so it is one unit. I'd say your best bet is to stop by a parts store and see if their scanner can pull any codes from the communication network.
