when car was off /s fan ran pass fan not run jumped a wire fan works passenger side found a keyed hot wire from fuse block & got it to work yet sometimes it would go back up to hot but not boil over ??

Some of your post is hard for me to understand.
Idle is up and down, the car is wanting to overheat.....sounds more like low coolant, which is caused by a leak somewhere.
Check the coolant level in the rad and the overflow. If low, top off. Start the car and look for leaks as you keep an eye on the temp gauge.
If the coolant is not low, sounds like the t-stat is sticking. Follow the UPPER hose from the rad to the engine....that is where the thermostat is.
I'll bet on a leak due to the idle issue.

Hi
Yea sorry bout that I was beat up tired when I wrote that
I hard wired the Passenger fan because it was not comming on at all.
After I did that the Drivers side fan quit running when the car is turned off
Go figure?
then the ride home it was cool engine light on
next morning the gage said hot after 15 mile trip around town engine light on.
way back home ran cool engine light on about 20 miles but idle would fluxtuate one start it would run high about 1250 1400 rpms then next start up it would run low & vibrate like hell about 700rpms at one point it would crank & start & stall did that several times.
today ran cool on way in engine light on
on the way home it ran cool engine light OFF? purred like a kitten
I dunno what to do.
Is that better?
Thanks for all of your help

Sounds like the t-stat might be sticking.....sticks closed or half way and the car overheats.......then it works "ok" and the car runs normal temp.
I would still check the coolant level and be sure it is full.
Sitting still, as the car warms up, do both fans come on? I know you have one "wired to run".

Ok
Replaced Radiator & Thermostat runs a lot cooler never gettint near 1/2
And I have been noticing it getting hard to turn so I checked the PS fluid & it took a whole bottle A lot easier to turn & the check engine light went off.
Do they have a sensor on the PS?
So far so good I weill seee I will drive it a few hundred miles this next week.
Thank you so very much.

There isn't a sensor on the PS that will set the CEL. There is a pressure switch but it controls the engine rpm.
What was the code? Again, the code will store in the ECU until cleared. Get the code, clear it - pull the ECU/Clock fuse from the underhood fuse box.

howdy
Well I stopped & got some more power steering fluid & topped it off to the top fill line........ no more check engine light.
its runnin cool as a cucumber
still sputtering when I 1st start it if it sits for a few hours it will have a dead miss for 1 minuet then clear up
I just put new plugs in & it took me 45 minuets to get #3 out for they were never changed I am not certain I coulke get it out & back in again ,
I am not putting a whole lot of money into this car it has rust & lots of other problems. paid 800 for it.
if it would act right I might paint it but if its gunne be a little chit then to hell with it.
Working in the salvage yards I have killed thousands for these cars ... maybe this is pay back LOL!
I think there might be a weeping fuel injector. flooding oit on clyender
I dunno.
Lil PITA car!
LOL!
Thank you so much
