I usually dont take my car to the shop b/c

1. It has never had a single problem - it is a honda
2. I like doing the work myself - cheaper and for the experience.

This time i was in a rush going out of town. Otherwise i would have done it myself.

If it is the switch is this an easy fix?

 

Looks like it shouldnt be hard to change.

Desert: I feel your pain... it's a common problem in the service industry.... I did computer repair for quite a few years and I'd fix someone's issue then their power supply would fail or something... It's not like I repaired anything even CLOSE to that issue but you still take the blame...

On a side note though there are some shady people out there of course... so if a tech tells you something is wrong or something happened never hesitate to ask them to show you if all of the sudden he can't reproduce the issue, you take your car home and never have a problem I would avoid them...

 

no pain my friend i told the guy that i could not get car out of park and needed a brake switch.....he said oh yeah it has been acting up on me from time to time so i just insert the key in the slot and get it out of park .....
when i told him it stil will not make the brake lites come on,, he told me to repalce the switch .

But the point i was trying to make is for a lot of people that do not trust techs and a lot of times techs have nothing to do with something else that goes wrong on the car

 

Just an update - replaced the switch and have had no problems since.
