No cold air!

Hi everyone, first time poster here. I don't know much about cars, and I've got a bit of a problem.
I had a GoodYear mechanic look at my car (for free, since I told them they probably caused the problem by working on my EGR code issue) and he fixed my no heat issue by replacing the thermostat.
Well now, I get no cold air (which will be a problem when it gets warm). The mechanic looked at the valve near the firewall on the passengers side (sorry, don't remember what he called it) and he said that valve almost never fails. He said that the computer controls it and since I still have an EGR computer problem, that might be causing the valve to not switch over to 'cold' mode. He also said there is a 'door' or 'damper' under/near the glove box, which might be stuck, but not to mess with it, since it will take one hour labor to verify.
So, he told me to bring my car in to Honda to fix the EGR recall issue and that would probably fix my no cold air problem. Does this sound right to you guys or is he giving me the runaround? I think they screwed something up trying to fix my EGR problem, and that is why they looked at my car and replaced my thermostat for free. Somebody help, please!

yep you took it into goodyear and this is a perfect example where you ask a ****ty mechanic to FIX something and they actually break a bunch of other ****. yea take it into honda and see just how extensive the damage is. im almost leaning toward advising you to start getting it ready to sell. ive seen stuff like this where a bad shop can cost you thousands of dollars in extra repairs hopefully this isnt the case for you though good luck
first off before you ask for help,, it would be nice to know ,, on what car you need help on,, give us the year and model....engine type, tranny type, etc etc
Also when you say you got no cold air . do you mean the a/c is not working ?? or you are not getting outside air into the cabin ??
