On the move

I didn't read in detail this entire thread. Just me reading from the highlights.

The TCU looks bad - blown cap. So I would look for a bone yard replacement. Next, I have seen several times where a repeated blown cap in the TCU is caused by a bad connection to the shift solenoid. So I would find a two wire pigtail and replace both sides of that connector - wire harness side and the solenoid side.

Yes that is a ~$60 try (~$50 for the TCU and ~$10 for the pigtail) and a bit of your time.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do

Thank you for that information, I have a junkyard TCU already but I'll try the plug.

You are going to need both....meaning the weak connection puts too much "stress" on the circuit and can/will lead to the new(er) TCU to burn out again. By a pic I saw a page or so ago the one in the car is done for already.

Again, it is a reach where I'm going - it has been documented a few times.

I have already change TCU and shift solenoids, also, I am not worried about continuing to mess with this thing for now as I have acquired another vehicle, IF I keep this, it will become a project, I appreciate your willingness to help but this is on the back burner for a while.
