Default Oil Leak From Headgasket?

Hello everyone at the accordforum. There appears to be oil coming out of the head gasket, it is exactly where an oil passage is. This motor was just rebuilt and has only 2000 miles on it. Its not a big leak, only like 1/10 a quart every 500 miles, but it is a concern.

Zoomed out pic,

It drips down to here where the oil pan is. At first I thought it was leaking but on second look it appears not. I just had the pan and the gasket replaced. It is dripping from above.

Because of oil on this area, I thought it was the cam seal or the VC gasket, but when I looked at the cam seal it was dry, and I re-applied the VC gasket hoping it would go away. The oil still turned up just like before:

That was when I looked underneath and noticed oil seeping from where the head meets the block.

There is no coolant in the oil and not oil in the coolant. I put the HG on backwards the first time and later fixed it, but I torqued it down backwards. I never ran the car with it on backwards (thankfully). I may have deformed the HG though by torquing it down backwards. Think this caused my problem? I tried to tighten it back up again but that did not fix the issue so I do not know what to do next other than replace the head gasket. It is not an OEM one so maybe that is why its doing this. I used copper spray if that matters.

Should I fix it now or would it be safe to wait a while, I don't have the funds to fix it now.

The fact that you installed the HG and then "flipped" it....hummm

Are you sure the leak is not from the cam seal. You can pull the upper cover and run the engine.....in your video(s) you have not done that.

I said the cam seal was dry, plus its brand new and was installed by a machinist. I even saw him install it when he was working on it.

Yeah, I did put it on backwards... I made it so the right side oil passages were facing the left and the left facing the right. When I put it on like that I saw part of the oil passage poking out on the front right side and though something was amiss.

Here is an illustration of the f22a block. The upper right passage is leaking.

I had it flipped.

If 'twer my car, and I were broke, my analysis would be that I could safely wait
to fix it because the engine is only losing 1 qt/5000 miles.
Such a small volume leak should mean there's no real loss of oil pressure on top.
Good enough oil pressure = operation is OK in my book.

$.02 Nice documenting, btw.

X2 ^^^ A tiny oil leak from that location won't hurt a thing.
