Hello --

I am looking to replace the brake fluid for the car listed in my sig.

I have been reading the Helms manual to find information on this process. The Brakes section has 2 sub-sections: Brakes and ABS.

I've been trying to figure out how the two sections correlate in regards to bleeding/fluid replacement. Do I bleed all the individual brake lines first and then the ABS reservoir, or the other way around? Any input on the correct order would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Personally, I would probably do the ABS first, but I do not think the order would matter much.

 

What Accord? They have different systems in later models.

Up to about 1997 they had a reservoir. You could remove/refill the fluid and not require any bleeding, but would leave a small amount of old fluid in the modulator. If you progressively crack the bleeder, you should remove all the old fluid.

Bleeding main brakes w/ ABS is same as non-ABS; replace reservoir fluid and progressively bleed each while while topping up reservoir as necessary.
